The Need
Employees are typically selected for management positions because of their skills in a chosen technical field. Unfortunately, because of a lack of management skills, these people often fail to effectively lead and motivate others.

Objectives
 • To analyze the role of manager and define its key functions
 • To examine and practice core management skills: Effective communication,
    motivation, and coaching
 • To increase awareness of one's own management style and how it affects work relationships
