__Technical Writing


Target Population: All employees whose jobs require them to write technical reports, documentation, e-mail, and procedures
Group Size: Up to 16 participants
Length of Program: Two Days (plus follow-up)
Course Format: Highly experiential--theory and techniques—discussion--writing assignments--individual and group exercises--ongoing feedback--private “one-to-one” sessions

The Need
Current research indicates that technically-oriented professionals spend about 40% of their time writing. Yet they often have difficulty expressing their ideas clearly and concisely, particularly to a non-technical audience.

Objectives
• To reduce the time it takes to organize and create technical documents
• To produce clear, concise, and decisive technical documents
• To convey technical information to a variety of audiences
• To ensure application of technical writing techniques through post-program follow-up

Program Content
• The planning and organization of technical documents, to include e-mail, analytical reports, and procedures.
• The use of visual support.
• Practical guidelines for effective technical writing.
